  • 1989-1990:  "Free Text" system of indexing and browsing software, with full Boolean proximity search and many other enhancements, using compiled C external functions and a HyperCard-based graphical user interface
 
  • late 1988:  "TEX" HyperCard stack, with limited Boolean proximity search
 
  • mid-1988:  "MultIndexer" program for MultiFinder background indexing
 
  • late 1987 - 1988:  "TEXAS" HyperCard stack, for simple indexing/browsing
 
  •1987:  generic C programs "brwsr.c" and "qndxr.c", for command-line interface, transportable indexing and browsing on various computer systems
 
  • late 1986 - early 1987:  "Browser" in MacForth, versions through 0.244
 
  •1985-1986:  prototype "Tiny Browser" in Forth on the Macintosh
